This isn't the cheeriest time in our history. We are embroiled in two wars, the economy is barely scratching it's way back to health, and it appears our country is divided almost evenly on every issue.
I know this because battle lines have been drawn in my own family and I know some factions of my family resent me for...existing and having an opinion that is different than theirs on things like health care. It's brutal out there!
So how can we get ourselves into the Christmas spirit in such decidedly un-festive times?
The obvious answer is to embark on a month long Cheesy Christmas Movie Marathon.
It's only December 2nd and I have already managed to squeeze in four made for TV Christmas movies plus 2 more that I started watching but couldn't finish yet because they were even too corny for me.

Like the one where all the animals are supposed to be talking but the producers didn't even go to the expense of animating it. Thus the animals mouths don't move, they are just laying there looking at a wall and there's a voice over in the background. Pass! (Yeah right, I will totally go back and watch it.)
My aim is to give you the rundown of the films I have watched, so when they roll around again two hours from now on some cable channel, you can make an informed Christmas movie choice.
I am willing to sacrifice myself for you, America.
